Remix Artist Collective provides re-interpretations/remixes of individual songs for artists/labels. Above all, they strive for excellence and good taste regardless of genre. They aim’s to maintain a style of remixing that strays from the “club mix” archetype, creating new incarnations of songs that stem from the original structure, but expand on their genre and musical arrangement. RAC mixes typically feature a unique blend of hip-hop and electro drum samples, analog synthesizers, melodic hooks, and original performed instrumentation.

Andre Allen Anjos (1/5 of the collective, remix tag RAC) is a 25 year old music artist with multiple years experience of remixing, producing and song-writing. Originally from Porto, Portugal now residing in Portland, OR. He is the founder and coordinator of the Remix Artist Collective. Apart from remixing, Andre has worked in TV (Entourage/90210/How To Make It In America), film (Holy Rollers, starring Jesse Eisenberg, Justin Bartha) and advertising (Verizon, NBA, Coca-Cola, JCPenney, etc.)

It’s fair to say a restless urge for creativity has punctuated everything Stopmakingme aka Daniel Avery has done to date. Having grown up on and been influenced by the risk taking DJ sets of Andrew Weatherall, Erol Alkan and Optimo, his own DJing style sees electro and techno thrown alongside cosmic drones, post-punk angles and mutant new wave whilst no momentum – or any floor – is lost. It was this drive that prompted Fabric to quickly pick him up as a resident and calls to entertain the masses at Bugged Out and Durrr on a regular basis.

Already with his records being played by some of his DJ heroes, a measure of Avery’s growing reputation as a producer can be demonstrated by recent remix commissions for Hercules & Love Affair, DFA 1979, Metronomy, Black Devil Disco Club, In Flagranti and Munk to name just a few. Furthermore, Dan has been collaborating with UK club legend Justin Robertson with releases already confirmed for Tigersushi, Gomma and Southern Fried as well as a new, purely dancefloor, project with Danny Ashenden from The C90s: Say Yes To Another Excess, the first tracks of which will be arriving on Bang Gang this summer of 2011, just in time for the festivals.
